ABSTRACT
During the routine anatomic dissection of the submental region in a male cadaver, an anatomical variation of both digastric muscles was found. This muscle had four bellies. The posterior bellies of the digastric muscles were normal. Anomalies of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle are not very rare. The possibility of this kind of anomaly should be kept in mind during radiological examinations such as CT and MR and surgical procedures involving this region.
