ABSTRACT
Toxic methemoglobinemia is a potentially life-threatening condition. It develops generally as a complication of the use of local anesthetics. Prompt recognition and quick institution of therapy is of utmost impor-tance. In this paper, a case of methemoglobinemia that occurred after lidocaine application for circumcision is presented in order to increase awareness among clinicians about this condition. The case was treated successfully with intravenous methylene blue.
