ABSTRACT
Hemangiomas are benign tumoral formations which can be seen in many organs. Although it is rare at thyroid tissue, often it consists of after thyroid fine-needle biopsy. These cases can not be diagnosed with imaging methods. It’s final diagnosis is histopathological. Here, we will present a case report. The patient was followed due to multinodular goitre and had a total thyroidectomy operation with suspicion of malignancy after thyroid fine-needle biopsy. After the operation she was diagnosed to have cavernous hemangioma of the thyroid. In the literature, a few cases which were operated with suspected malignancy have been reported as cavernous hemangioma of the thyroid. The available information shows that; while approaching to thyroid nodules, cavernous hemangioma of the thyroid should be considered and must be made differential diagnosis with malignancy.
