ABSTRACT

In this article, two cases of ovarian leiomyosarcoma are presented. Optimal cytoreduction was performed and ad-juvant chemotherapy was given to both patients. The first patient, who was 34 years old, was stage IA and the second patient, who was 68 years old, was stage IIIC. Postoperative follow-up time was 13 months and 48 months, respectively. There was no recurrence during this period. Ovarian leiomyosarcoma is a quite aggressive tumor that is uncommon and has a poor prognosis. The cases presented here are found to be significant by virtue of the ab-sence of early recurrence. (Gazi Med J 2012; 23: 73-4)
