ABSTRACT

Benign uterine leiomyomas are the most common tumor of female genital tract. Uncommonly, tumors that are supposed to be leiomyomas could be uterine sarcoma or a variant of leiomyoma. The tumors that provide only some of the malignity criterias are classified as STUMP (smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignant potential). Intravenous leiomyomas are rare tumors that may end up with death. In this manuscript a case with intravenous leiomyomatosis is presented. It was diagnosed in the hysterectomy specimen of a patient who underwent total abdominal hysterectomy upon a diagnosis of STUMP following myomectomy
