ABSTRACT

Tazarotene is a synthetic retinoid that regulates gene transcription by binding to high affinity retinoid acid receptor β and γ. Tazarotene has cream, gel and foam forms. Tazarotene is a well tolerated drug with low systemic absorption when administered topically. Tazarotene is mainly used in the treatment of acne vulgaris and psoriasis. However, tazarotene is recommended more frequently in the treatment of skin diseases. Within this study, skin disease treated with tazarotene have been reviewed in the light of recent literature.
